  1. Global shitstorm is brewing… Gelukkig hebben we nog automatische index in ons land zeker?

  2. I like the inflation. You can shoot me now.

Me and my financial circle saw this coming and went all in on lithium, rare earth stocks and general anti inflation assets late 2020. Basically quadrupling my money.

And now it gives me the possibility to ask an additional 10% pay if I would decide to switch jobs.

  3. Automatic indexation is both a blessing and a curse.
Sure it keeps wages linked to inflation, but inflation filters in through the index in labour prices.

In these circumstances, we quickly have a price-wage spiral on our hands

  4. So help me out here as a new immigrant in the country.
My PC gave a raise of 0.4% the company send also and email about index of 2.85% not sure how it was calculated (arbeiders pc100).

So is that it for this year? Should I start having an anxiety attack now or should I wait a bit longer?

  5. How was last year again? Basically nothing above 20 celsius until end of May? Year before that was heavier, but still.

Gonna be constantly wearing sweaters if this keeps up.

  6. And keep in mind, home prices are not even included in the index…

Higher intrest rates would help, but that would cause a lot pain for many governments.

  7. Increase the interest rates and stop lending money at dirt cheap rates to 3rd, 4th , massive industrial real estate buyers.

  8. Putting all my money into Bitcoin, dont care what other people tell me. I believe its one if the best hedges against inflation

  9. I’m somewhat amused that the article doesn’t seem to explain at all why there is such a heavy inflation in the first place, besides “we’re not consuming enough” (wonder why) and “well, prices rise outside of our country (never mind why), so imported goods are also more expensive, naturally”.

My introductory lessons on economy are quite a bit faded away at this point, so does anyone have a decent enough explanation?

And if possible, something that isn’t just “Well wage increases from indexing, you dummy, we can’t make a profit anymore because of that, so up those prices go”, because I can’t help but think that’s complete bs (but I might be totally wrong, of course) with only the employers (who set the prices) purposefully keeping such a spiral going.

  10. My god how do people heat their swimming pool these days… Haven’t been able to use it this winter ffs.

  11. Huh, if that’s true, people will jerry-rig their electric cars with solar panels, like the ones you see in the movie Looper.

  12. Wanneer gaat er een Belgische versie komen van
r/antiwork of r/workersreform voor het te laat is? Liever zonder mods die zomaar op het nieuws gaan
