Micheal Gove, the distasteful little man who no-one would ever vote for.
Except the people of Surrey Heath, who in the 1930 elected a horse that had won 3rd prize at the gymkhana because it was wearing a blue ribbon.
“There is a more fundamental issue too which is the opaque and unaccountable ownership model in too many of our housing blocks which ultimately leaves leaseholders on the hook when something goes wrong.”
The aristocracy of land barrons and their control over this country’s housing model hasn’t changed for a thousand years. Why would we think Grenfell tower would change any of this?
…Government really needs to hold owners (and their insurance providers!) accountable for building safety/standards. UK Resources/taxes cannot be used to police general contractors and handymen.
Finally starting to come to light that internally the buildings are just as shit as the outside. We’ve got the grant for the cladding but an assessment has found internally the fire breaks aren’t up to standard. Hopefully gains traction in the news
