Hi everyone – I hope this is an ok topic for this sub.
My grandfather was a radio transmit soldier from the US. The back of this photograph says “One of the places I stayed during war – 1945, across canal from Namur Belgium, Nobleman’s Castle.”
Searching around, I couldn’t find a castle that looked quite like this one in the area. Or maybe it’s the angle of the photograph?
Also, the caption, “My Room,” was a 20 year old man from a oil-mining town joking about the time he lived in an actual castle…
