Drank a bottle of wine last night, went to bed early cos I’ve work at 10am…awake since 6. Even worse, I was supposed to be WFH today but an IT issue means I’ll have to go to the office today instead. FML.
Edit: IT issue is resolved so at least I get to stay in my trackies for the day.
Tested positive on Friday just as the announcement was made about lifting the restrictions. So quiet night in with my partner watching movies and drinking wine. If I didnt test positive I can imagine I would have done the exact same thing.
Had my little sister over with her boys and my little one is coming out of her shell a bit. Covid messed up a lot of our plans and I’ve been awfully worried about her socialisation but after yesterday maybe I have nothing to worry about.
Might go feed the ducks today.

Stayed home, didn’t get the ride. The spouse was in a foul mood yesterday. It happens.
Meself and the eldest are about to go walking around the garden looking for signs of life with a mug of coffee and a sippy cup of “jooce” (sprogs pronunciation…).
Youngest is in the throes of teething but doing alright, we’ve got it under control with chewy toys, chopped up apples (?!) and teething bonjella teething gel.
Today – gonna let the spouse do whatever they want. See what happens.
Stayed in. Caught up on tv shows. Ate my body weight in crisps.
Went out for lunch… Pubs were filling up.. but ultimately stayed home, didn’t get the ride and watched celebrities go dating. Which was shite

Grand, dry January and all that. But we’re planning the office Christmas party in two weeks, so looking forward to that.
Went out for one pint in the local beer garden and I have a hangover. Yay.
Off now to help a friend demolish part of his house for a few hours. Can’t wait to be swinging sledgehammers on Panadol.

You won’t get the nightclubbers til midday! Myself, wifey and 2 kids went in to Cork City yesterday. It felt like Jazz Weekend here, even during the day. Mad buzz about! Surreal for a Sat in Jan!
Had 3 pints, home for their bedtime. Ozarks was started but we will have to watch again as we both fell asleep!
I did the middle of the night feed with the baby and caught the end of the NFL. Delighted to see the 49ers go through!

Grand, apart from I nearly knocked my housemate the fuck out at 8am. She left her phone downstairs in the kitchen which is under my bedroom. Her alarm was going off for 10 mins while she was upstairs in her bedroom. It took for me to come out of my bedroom before anything was done about it. She decided to get pissy with me and continued to make a shit load of noise in the kitchen.
So I’m just heading up home to the folks to get away from her. As I know I’ll just go nuts at her. And I don’t really want to be stessing myself out. All because she’s an ignorant, loud, inconsiderate see you next tuesday. I don’t want to lower myself to her level too.
Edit – excuse my wee rant. Definitely need a night out and a good ride. 😂

ADHD for life
I was fully expecting that all the bars would be absolutely jammers yesterday but I went to my local and it was actually fine. In fact I had a good night in the end. the first guy that just bought a drink and landed on my table was a bit weird but after that I went to the bar and chatted with people there. it was a good laugh actually in the end. People offering to buy drinks left right and centre. it’s really nice thing that seems to be unique to Ireland how friendly people are in bars with strangers.
It may be possible now with a deadline at work pushed on that I could take a day for my birthday. And I wasn’t really bothered about taking it before because I couldn’t do anything but I think I may be able to actually go get myself a massage or something now. I’m going to have to look at my options. It’s so strange that suddenly everything is back as an option. You’d almost forget what you used to like to do.
I’m going to have a go at making aubergine lasagna today. I rarely cook anything new so it’s good to try and spend some time doing something productive rather than fitting my day around exercise and opening a bottle of wine.

Went into town. Wasn’t too bad. Busy, but like a normal Saturday night in January busy.
A few places (most restaurants) had queues outside, but yeah not the carnage some were imagining.

My sister bought an apartment in Dublin a year ago and I stayed there last night for the first time.
Had a night in the pub and got wakened at 7am by the toddler upstairs having a meltdown and stomping around and screaming. Sister says it happens every morning.
Fuck that. I’m waiting to sober up and then I’ll be off up the road back to Sligo and peace and quiet.
I’m out of hospitality since first lockdown and I don’t drink so it made no odds to me.
In with the missus, couple of smokes and an easy night watching rubbish movies.
Contemplating a breakfast roll now.
Just booked holidays in France at Easter. Can’t freaking wait. I haven’t left ireland in about 3 years. Jaysus.
I jogged through town last night for my night time run.
The buzz and Irish trad music nearly brought a tear to my eye blaring on to the streets.
Wish I could have been out in the centre of it.
I bought an electric guitar yesterday (Yamaha Pacifica 112V, for those interested). Was going great until we found out the amp we have is busted, which put bit of a damper on the whole thing as the guitar made more noise than the amp itself. I’ll buy a functioning guitar amp soon enough.
Other than that, it’s been grand.
Went out for an early pint in the afternoon with the intention of seeing the pals briefly before getting a few bits done at home and then coming back into town, though once I tried getting up again to go back into town, I simply didn’t. Think I’ll wait a week or two rather than go out in that madness.
Have a viewing for an apartment today, close to home, close to work, close to my son, really really hoping I land this one. If not we’ll be homeless in 6 weeks
Three weeks sober today!
I went out and played in a trad sesh. Didn’t drink as I was driving so had a few when I got home. God it was great to be out AT NIGHT and playing music again.
