  1. I don’t know Israeli politics but if Israel leaves Gaza before Hamas is destroyed they are making a huge mistake. How many more dead hostages is it going to take before people realize that there is no peace until Hamas is destroyed?

  2. Netanyahu was living on borrow time to begin with, it was just a matter of who was going to pull the plug. If he doesn’t make progress towards stability and concluding the war, Gantz will pull the plug. If he begins conscripting the ultra-orthodox Shas and/or Gimel will. Finally, if he doesn’t do enough to prevent humanitarian aid from entering Gaza, the far-right will pull the plug.

  3. All his demands are super reasonable.

Glad someone is pressing the “what comes after?” Question.

Because Netanyahu and his coalition partners have no intention of ever letting this end. They will keep the conflict going to serve their ends.

Then the settlers will enter, and that will then be the justification for maintaining the military control of the strip.

And the military phase will continue continue continue… with the expectation being that in 5-10-15 years the Palestinians will have been ushered out of Gaza and it will be populated by Israelis. Specifically, Israeli settlers.

If forced to answer “what comes after?” This is the current government’s answer (if they are to tell the unvarnished truth).

Gantz is right to press the question. And he’s also right that once the answer is revealed… the Israelis must, immediately, vote in a different government.

  4. He makes sense to a point: there needs to be some long-term plan here. But none  of the parties he names as participants in his hypothetical international administration have actually signed on to any such scheme, nor is it clear that they would be willing to do so.

  5. Gantz’s objectives seems contradictory and impossible.

Hamas will not return the hostages if Israel insists on demolishing them and demilitarize the Gaza Strip.

Every Arab country have rejected taking part of any governing duty in Palestine.

Resident in North Israel won’t return while Hezbullah is bombing the area.

Saudi normalization won’t happen without the creation of a Palestinian state.

Orthodox Jews have repeatedly say they won’t join the military.

  6. Sadly I don’t think any of the hostages are alive anymore. Hamas has not proven that they are, and are using the possibility as a bargaining chip at this point. I certainly hope I am wrong, but hope is fading rapidly

  7. It seems like Netanyahu is extending the war to keep the war-time govt intact and cling on to the power.

  8. It’s funny how they look very similar. Uncanny.

  9. Premature Benny. He should have let Gallant and Netanyahu fight cook longer. Unless he has an ironclad promise from at least 5 government MKs that they’ll flip on a no-confidence vote, he’ll tear the country apart and not even get to be PM out of it.

  10. Good. Let him go and take the military chief responsible for October the 7th with him
