Hello,

I’m seeking the results of a poll that I read a couple of years ago.

I’m an Ecologist and former climate scientist writing a book about the ecological solutions to climate change.

I saw a poll of the US public a couple of years ago that was very striking to me.

It said the majority of Americans trusted climate change was real, wanted to be a part of the solution and didn’t know what to do.

I’m seeking that poll – I wanted to check the data and methodology and include it in my writing.

Does anyone know where it was from, or have a link to it?

Thank you, I appreciate your help.

Adding a link to another poll I recently read, so that this request can get posted.

  1. So all those Americans are taking record levels of ocean cruises, plane rides, record travel mileage, larger houses, extravagant diets, and consumerism is skyrocketing. We are still at peak oil, suppose that could be a clue ? Like talking to a toddler, Billy, don’t put all that candy in your mouth at once !

  2. I asked AI for you.

The “Climate Change in the American Mind” survey conducted by the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication in December 2022 found that while a majority of Americans are worried about climate change and support measures to address it, they are unsure of what actions are most effective [Yale Climate Comm](https://climatecommunication.yale.edu/publications/climate-change-in-the-american-mind-beliefs-attitudes-december-2022/).

Additionally, a Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health survey in 2022 highlighted that many Americans, despite experiencing the effects of extreme weather, struggle with knowing how to respond effectively on a personal level [Harvard School of Public Health](https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/news/press-releases/poll-facing-extreme-weather-is-changing-americans-views-about-need-for-climate-change-action/). This aligns with findings from a Princeton University study showing a widespread underestimation of public support for climate policies, which may contribute to a sense of helplessness or lack of direction among individuals who do care about the issue [Princeton Engineering](https://engineering.princeton.edu/news/2022/08/23/fighting-climate-change-wildly-popular-most-americans-dont-know)

  3. A lot of them trust that climate change is real but they either think it’s part of god’s plan or they’re way more invested in owning the liberals to actually put their votes where their mouth is.

  4. Well, the simple solution was carbon tax. This modifies people’s consumption by valuing the true cost of emissions. The only problem is the idea is assaulted by the media whose main focus is to keep their rich owners happy so they push a new economic Cold War narrative that is entirely imaginary and take out the voting base with fear. This committing that base to preventing any salient options for change.
