It appears that Ukrainian pilots that are starting re-training in France will fly the Alpha Jet. These are the same pilots coming from some piston-single flying in the UK in recent months. hese pilots will undergo F-16 conversion in Denmark or Romania and may be mission qualified late 2025 or 2026

1. It’s great to hear the Ukrainian Air Force is getting training from our some our esteemed allies. Once Ukraine is able to field these, I think it will be a force multiplier for Ukraine. They will be able to carry out long interdiction missions, close air support, tactical and strategic strike and whole plethora of air ops critical to the war. Fuck Putler and his warmongering, barbaric Russian horde!

4. My clueless ass would argue taking some soviet jet trained pilot and putting them throught intense f16 flight simulator should have been good enough… I dont understand the need to start from scratch with rookie.

5. I wish there was a stronger parallel effort to supply them with aircraft types that they already know how to fly and maintain. Don’t get me wrong, western aircraft are good but ok today is better than great 2 years from now

9. Those dates are too far away. By that point their edge will be nullified and will just be kind of wasted time and money I fear.
