Let’s get an emoji for the British Isles! There is an emoji for the Japanese Isles 🗾 which I love! ❤️ But there is not yet an emoji for the British Isles. There is something about the imagery of our isles that I just LOVE and I would really like to see an emoji of it. Do you think it’s a good idea? And if so will you help me get one?

  1. I think the distinction is that the Japanese islands are all one country, whilst these islands are not.

    Also, just for reference, in Ireland we tend to be pretty triggered by the term British Isles. Its not something we use ( we tend to say “Britain and Ireland” or “the UK and Ireland”). I personally don’t care if someone uses British Isles, but the vast majority of people here are deeply annoyed by it.

    Given its controversial usage here, I doubt it would fly.
