Hunt- nasty piece of work but a ‘true Tory’ of the old school. Steady hands perhaps but sullied by his time overseeing/ ruining the NHS
Truss; best described in some paper or other as ‘a triumph of mince’. A flimflam merchant who’s loyal to the next pay cheque and opportunity.
Gove; The aspirant Machiavelli of British politics, not too bright, can be trusted to betray anyone – the sort of man Caesar made the mistake of trusting.
Sunak; The only one without a real record and thus without too much baggage. His main hold up will be that his family by marriage are billionaires and he’s an extremely wealthy man. There will be elements of the party who laud his neo-Thatcherite attitude to fiscal policy but will voters be put off by a man set to likely favour his own ‘class’; billionaires.
It comes down to party members not the voters though so the real question is who appeals to the predominantly rural, white, elderly, racist party members when once again 2% of the population get to decide the future for the rest of us.
To my mind it would be Truss. She’s a Maggie Thatcher wannabe and had spent a lot of public money recently on self promotion for conservativehome etc. riding on a tank and all sorts of nonsense.
If she channels Thatcher during these Ukraine meetings she’s been sent to and makes the right noises on key issues then she’ll likely be popular with members.
Gove isn’t well liked, Hunt is a bit of an odd one.
I’m just not sure the grass roots would look past their racism and vote for Sunak tbh.
There could be some left field entrants to a contest that may do well;
Hang ‘em and flog ‘em Patel? The embodiment of the rural old Tory but will they look past their racism?
Tobias Elwood? Handsome ex-officer talking tough about Russia?
Rory Stewart ? Odd looking chap but a solid aristocrat and a moderate centrist.
Perhaps even Ian Duncan Smith? One of the old guard back to steady the ship? Led the party in opposition.
… And your choices are:
Cunts cunt
Thick cunt
Cokedup cunt
Rich cunt
Or a combination of the above, I won’t include the outsiders of misogynistic cunt, bigoted cunt or new cunt.
