The Crown Prince couple and Princess Ingrid Alexandra wearing their traditional costume, greeting the locals outside of their home in Skagum Estate.
Balcony appearance with King Harald V and Queen Sonja at the Royal Palace.
Sverre Magnus is reportedly celebrating with friends. I think he’s in the military now too?
I was there last year! Sat right in front of the balcony. It’s a fabulous day in Norway — everyone dresses up and celebrates.
Hello Puppy!
So does she go by Alexandra as her first name, or is the badge using Alexandra as her last name?
I should point out that Norwegian national costumes are an assortment of wool and linen pieces mixed with silver pieces and can get quite hot, quite quickly. Surprisingly flattering though. I’m so happy they are making sure to keep this a part of their traditions. It’s one of my favorite national costumes!
It’s amazing to me that Norway and Sweden have national costumes and national days but Denmark doesn’t. I know Greenland and the Faroe islands have theirs but what about other places?
I am fully in favor of top hats in official events.
In general I think male head wear would benefit from returning to some older fashion trends. We’ve been stuck on casual baseball caps for far too long.
