EC7 is train bet. Hamburg and interlaken Ost in Switzerland.
I am currently viewing the past 10 days train schedule for EC7 and it is showing that on most of the days it is not going till Interlaken instead it is terminating at Basel.
Like yesterday (19.05), Train travelled till Basel only but on 15.05, it travelled till Interlaken Ost. Why there is diff. In route on random days? Has anyone travelled via EC7 before?

Switzerland probably doesn’t allow late trains from germany further into their rail system as it brings chaos into theirs. My best guess is that it is disallowed to continue.
Alternatively, to get “back on track” timewise the train cancels the last stops and makes a so-called Pofalla Wende. Pretty much telling everybody on the train that the next stop is the last and the train will turn around to make up for lost time. Now, getting to your destination is your problem again.
If this happens often on that line check for an alternative from the forseeable last stop to get to your destination.
