we begin in the Democratic Republic of Congo with a developing story earlier this Saturday gun Sunday gun gunfire was heard in the capital kinasa the Soviet press reported that men in military uniform clashed with guards of a politician near the president’s office let’s speak to our correspondent to try to get some clarity on the situation EMT Livingston uh standing by on the line from kinasa hello to you emit um what is the situation right now in the capital the situation in the capital at the moment is confused but it appears to be under control there’s strong military presence um around the major checkpoints in kinasa and the Army just gave a statement um less than an hour ago saying that they had just thwarted and attempted coup um but that the situation was under control and that they had arrested several congales people and several foreigners so an attempted coup thwarted uh there in the capital um what’s a broader context in the DRC at the moment so the DRC especially in its eastern region is in a conflict the M23 Rebel groups backed by Rwanda has captured huge amounts of territory so there’s a great deal of instability there’s also political instability um the elections which were highly criticized happened in December and in January and uh it’s now may and a government still hasn’t been formed so there’s been a huge amount of political infighting over who gets to um who gets awarded the the the ju government jobs uh and EMT one of the wires we’re having here uh in The Newsroom says that this attempted coup involved congales but also foreign Fighters any idea what that means foreign Fighters at the moment it’s very difficult to say anything with clarity there are videos that are circulating on social media that appear to show um a a a white person who was among the the the fighters that um that committed the attack today but uh to go any further than that at the moment is is is difficult to say with any Clarity and the congales government itself only talked about foreigners um didn’t specify be trying to follow that situation throughout the day here on France 24 EMT thank you very much EMT Livingston reporting from kinasa

They were Congolese nationals that lived abroad that had a heart for their country and the upheaval destroying millions of lives so they wanted change. Amongst the group were foreigners that stood by their plight. May their leader and the men that perish rest in peace and kudos to the Congolese army for swiftly neutralizing the situation. However, i am in great pain as this is due to boiling frustrations of years long turmoil

If is true then it’s handwork of the west (EU and America including apple) because the President have complained of the west blood money they are making from Congo and what they are doing with Rwanda 🇷🇼 controlling part of their country and stealing their natural resources and selling it to them and recent interview where the President stated that he prefers working with Russia 🇷🇺 and China 🇨🇳 than the west, I believe that’s what prompted the failed coup and that’s it failed because the soldiers believe their president too.
