  1. I love the red. I don’t know why people are being so weird about it. It’s an evocative piece. But again, that’s probably why.

  2. the green would have been more fitting for him, with all his environmental work

  3. No. I like the red.

I like the originality of the whole thing.

  4. No, I think the red suits him perfectly. After all, he *wanted to be* a tampon.

  5. Don’t know anything about art but the red just makes me think of wealth from conquest. And he’s wearing a military uniform.

  6. I’m surprised the Palace didn’t go with green considering the King’s green credentials. It would have been a good representation of what he wants to achieve.

    Are they stupid?

  7. I actually REALLY like the blue!!

It’s softer and speaks to his environmentalism (clean water, air)

  8. the uniform could have remained red with a green background. The all red is a bit harsh.

  9. portrait is more attention seeking from the artist than about the prortrait or the King.

  10. Nah. I love the red. Charles is like the least rockstar monarch I can think of, so the juxtaposition is great.

  11. No, he has red tones to his skin and the portrait works well with a red background/foreground. These other colours just make him look like a floating head.

  12. No. The whole idea is off putting. Like a kindergartner scribbled crayons over a real painting. Just not a fan.

  13. I actually really like the red portrait. And maybe this is going to make me a gatekeeping art snob, but I feel like much of the criticism tossed at it might be coming from people who could stand to take some art appreciation or art history classes. I’m not saying it’s my favorite portrait ever, or even that it’s a masterpiece, but it’s well done.

  14. I honestly thought it should have had a softer background, since Charles likes watercolor and is generally more softspoken. Any color would have been probably fine if it had just been softer. I didn’t understand the bold take, given Charles personality. The bold colors just overwhelm and seem more representative of his position than of him.

  15. I like the red portrait. It may be an unpopular opinion. But I like it.

  16. He’d look less like a bloody tampon. It is still terrible though

  17. Well, the point of the butterfly is that you don’t notice it at first. It makes no sense keeping it the same colour in different colour schemes.
