Public told to report Asian hornet sightings amid warning of surge in invasive species

2. Not seen this but the amount of mosquitoes nowadays in London is nuts. Their bite is awful too.

4. I had one of these in my house a few days ago. Absolutely fucking massive and sounded like a neighbour mowing their lawn

That’s not an Asian hornet that’s a European hornet which is native to the UK Asian Hornets have yellow legs and orange faces oh and in case you’re worried about their ominous nickname murder hornets yes 80+ people are killed by them in Japan each year but most of those are people who are either allergic or they stumbled into a nest they actually pose very little danger to humans they mostly threaten European honey bees which have no natural defences against them since its exoskeleton is too tough for their stingers to penetrate

7. I saw one from the bus a few weeks ago sitting atop the bus stop, couldn’t believe how big it was
