I burnt small part of my kitchen countertop. I have home insurance(standard 99sek). How will insurance work? Does insurance cover everything or do I need to pay anything extra? Is there any rule that says I need to have insurance for certain period of time for claiming the insurance for damages?

Post a claim to them. It won’t cost you anything and the worst that can happen is that you get a decline.

Well usally it depends on what happend when the damage was made. And even if the insurance takes it! You will have to pay a small fee ~750-1500 SEK for the insurance..
