😂😂😂 never not at it. Even when they are trying to pay us scum a compliment it’s an insult.
I had two instances as a teenager when I was surrounded by a group of squaddies who appeared from nowhere.
Once when cycling on a closed off road between Derry and Muff a load of them appeared from the ditch giving me the third degree about who I was, where was I going and who was I meeting. I was just going a bike ride.
Another time I was fishing in the Foyle with a friend and a speedboat with a heavy machine gun came towards us. We thought about making a run for it but the RUC and army were running down from the field behind us.
I wonder if both times did I inadvertently spoil some covert op.
It’s interesting to hear they thought Catholics were scum and only in old age have realised we couldn’t all be scum.
I worked in a pub in Liverpool as a student, the landlords daughter was in the navy. Was very standoffish when she first met me. Later admitted that they had been taught that anyone from Ireland was a potential terrorist and to be very suspicious. I was the first person she had met from Ireland. They take people from deprived areas with poor education and indoctrinate them to believe that kind of thing. Otherwise it would be very difficult to occupy other countries. Helps to dehumanise the locals
I kept seeing these clips meant to post one at some stage. Captions are hilarious too, they spell Omagh as South Omah.
