  3. The whole article especially the assurances part makes for some really dystopian reading, like if I had no insight and had to guess the country, I would’ve chosen a more nefarious part of the world.

  10. If the US government was as evil as some Redditors believe, we would drop the extradition process, let him go wherever he wants to go and then they would liquidate him like GRU/SVR liquidates their enemies.

    Instead of that, several administrations have continued to work through the courts of law in order to make sure that it’s done in full compliance with UK laws. The guarantees he got from the US government are above and beyond what 99% of defendants would get.

    I want to see him in the court stateside, and I also want the letter of the applicable UK laws followed to a t.
