Global Peace Summit: Can it End the Russia-Ukraine War?

On June 15th, the First Global Peace Summit will start in Burgenstock, Switzerland.   1. It could be over in a minute, if russia retreats…. and give back all prisoners and children. Children which they kidnapped. the fact some countries are srill hesitant is a disgrace. Glad the Netherlands isn't.

  4. When Russia pulls its troops out of Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia, there can be peace. Right now Russia holds a piece of Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia. Slava Ukraini!

  5. Because Russia declared war .So,they must be in the Summit to close war. Without Russian in any Summit about Ukraine, war still continue…The problem is that Ukraine ready to face with Russian in the Summit or NOT💙💛

  6. Russia has to remove ALL of its Troops that have been engaged in this ILLEGAL War against Ukraine. There can be NO compromise where Russia gets to acquire 25 percent of Ukraine's Country including Crimea! There will be no peace if this is their demands!

  9. Stop using people as objects and bargaining chips in some game designed to force their ways and will through force, violence, subjugation and terror and invasion in a bid for conquest and dominion.

    There can be no peace talks when the aggressor has no knowledge of the language of peace. It’s like having two people engage in dialogue with completely separate languages and knowing not a word in the other person’s language. The entire conversation is doomed from the outset and is an exercise in futility.

    There is only a non-aggression formula where all terms and consequences of violations are decided by a team of nations dedicated to upholding and defending peace, with an enforcement and monitoring arm to enact all the terms and consequences. Rhetoric has to be strongly backed by action or it’s an endeavour doomed to failures. All hostile aggressors lose their voice and space at the table of diplomacy and negotiation until they can prove through action sustained consistently through time as a commitment to peace and may gradually gain participatory standing through baby steps. Also they are branded throughout the international community as the truth and full disclosure of their chosen modus operandi throughout past attitude, action, behaviour and conduct of all members throughout their ranks including their chosen approach in dealing with the bad actors who hide within the folds of their organization or government or group.

    This also serves as a precedent and example to others considering the path of hostility and aggression, terror, invasion through dominion and conquest or oppression and persecution.

    All other nations can engage in informed decision making processes or how to proceed in their own engagement with full knowledge of what and who they are dealing with.

    A global database that tracks all violations, scandals, ethics violations, human rights abuses and any other bad governmental action will also provide capitalists and NGOs and business venture professionals with the data needed to decide whether to invest based on the data at hand with a triggering arm for action to be enacted when any threshold has been reached accumulated through any specified time period.

    Canada cannot be part of any endeavour related to peace and democracy as it has on the public payroll those who engage in the occult and sorcery and domestic terrorist tactics through homegrown and imported foot soldiers to impose the will and direction of foreign leaders and governments and violate our Constitutional charter of rights and freedoms which have n enforcement mechanism or value. Until they can prove through action that they are truly dedicated to peace they should be removed from any claim to democratic governance.

    The reigning tyrant and his ministers and minions are opportunists and looking for photo ops and image and self promotion platforms.

  14. I don't think much will come of it. I can't see Putin ever returning parts of Ukraine Russia has taken control of especially Crimea. Is Ukraine ready to surrender lands in Russian control?

Usually I'd be totally in favor of a peaceful solution, but as the situation presents itself right now, there cannot be a conditional peace with Russia just like their couldn't be a conditional peace with Germany in 1945. It would simply give Russia a break to re-arm and fortify their economy even more, and the conflict would be even worse the next time Putin wanted to redraw some borders.
    If it is to be of consequence, there have to be consequences to the aggressor nation, else the whole mess will start over in 3-5 years, only worse.

I want desperately to believe that it could; if things in Moscow were different, I would be the first one to tell you that your people and their peaceful prosperous future is more important than any hunk of land and that you should be willing to negotiate and potentially make painful concessions if it means security guarantees going forward— but it's just not possible with Czar Putin in the Kremlin. He has already proven again and again that his word means nothing, nor will he allow anyone in his own government to act rationally on his behalf. He is a mystic apocalyptic whackjob who can't be trusted and will only view any concession as 'weakness' and be encouraged by it to attack again.

  17. Putin currently seems lacking in resources, especially when he talks about negotiation, a word that is not in his vocabulary, and above all, you do not negotiate with a liar and a manipulator. Negotiation is therefore not possible because as he himself says that only force can resolve this war but it does not work as he initially planned. As unnecessarily attacking a brother and neighboring country was apparently a mistake by Putin, Ukraine is entitled to recover all of its territory and for Putin who claims that this is not the territory he wants then he has no to return to its former borders and expatriate and deport all the Ukrainian Pro-Russians and relocate them to Russia and this is what he should have done at the start and thus saved thousands of lives in an absurd war and unjustified. This is the only negotiation Putin deserves!!!

  19. You cannot have a peace conference without having both parties in the conflict present. All this will achieve is for the West to issue anouther of their worthless ultimatiums to Russia to withdraw from Ukraine pay some ridiculous reprabations and have all the Russian leaders go on trial for war crimes. So you seriously believe that Russia, who is very clearly winning the war would agree to this? Most of the major players will not even attend, and that includes Biden, Russia and even China will not attend. Thus rendering this propoganda conference illrelivant .The West is living in some kind alternate reality that has no basis in fact. It's deeply concerning how incompetant this shows the Western leaders to be. Maybe one day they will come to their senses, but I don't think so. They appear obsessed with destroying all the Western financial and military infastructure. If they keep this up my advice is to get out of your Western country before their stupidity brings the whole system down.

  20. ruZZia is surreptitiously trying its best to get a foothold in all former USSR countries, it's been Putin's goal all along to reinstate those countries into his federation and he's not going to give it up easily. He'd jump for joy if he could split Germany into East and West again. Just see what is happening in Georgia, Moldova, and even Poland. The only way to restore normality is the complete dissolution of the Putin regime.
