  2. A particular detail that haunts me, which will now haunt you, is that the Canadian government actually issued a warning on all processed pork purchased from that area, because there was a high likelihood that it contained the remains of his victims.

    For the uninitiated, Pickton was a pig farmer.

  4. This strikes me as a kind of rule of nature. If serial killers secretly prey on the pack, then it should be unsurprising if some of the pack prey on the serial killer once they figure out what it is.

  15. This man murdered anywhere from 26 to 49 individuals, ground them up, and sold the meat to unsuspecting consumers. Now, you would think someone like this would spend the rest of their days behind bars, but nope. He was only convicted of six counts of second-degree murder, and for this, he received a sentence of 25 years to life. He became eligible for day parole in February of this year.

    I love you, Canada, but your legal system is a farce.

  16. It’s hard to put into words how much I hate this monster….I read about one of his victims in particular, Sarah Jean De Vries. Who was a sex worker who wrote about the other sex workers going missing and fearing for her own life.

    The police could have stopped this much sooner, many of these women could have still been alive if the officials hadn’t been in denial that these women were being targeted by a serial killer. One of his survivors told the poilice that she saw a butchered woman at his farm! They ignored her for YEARS! He had already been charged with attempted murder of a sex worker 5 years before he was caught (by FUCKING chance)! He was never prosecuted!!!!

    Just thinking about what he did to her and how many other women like her he murdered that we don’t even know about makes me sick. He went for the women he knew to be “easy targets”…sex workers, indigenous women….

  23. seems wild to me that his dad was born in the 1800’s. Not really related to the story but was a odd tidbit from the wiki that stood out.

  24. This is the guy who served as inspiration for the Criminal Minds episodes where the team goes to Canada to investigate a series of murders taking place on a pig farm. 

  25. Hopefully they nurse him back to full health real nice and send him back to prison so the inmates can do it again.
