Mac and cheese which is basically a huge amount of cheese with some pasta side doesn’t exist in Italy.
We don’t put cream in any traditional recipe, while you seem to think you can’t do a pasta dish without it (or other totally random fatty ingredients). There isn’t a single Italian dish that get replicated as it is abroad.
Yeah yeah, I know… Classic Italian gatekeeping, blablabla. Nah, you can do whatever you like for what I care, but don’t ask such silly question as if you eat the same things we eat. There are very few Italian pasta dishes as fat and calories dense as the “stuff” they eat abroad.
The reason we don’t get fat is that we eat the correct amount of pasta. People think the 500g box of pasta is for 2 people but it’s for 4-5 here in italy.
