Sort of regret not going a bit later when it had brightened up a bit more, to her more of the views, but still happy to have done the 12 mile walk (in total) that it took to get up there and back from my house.

(Dog is currently snoozing after it lol)

Btw: 3.30 for a bottle of water is madness, and they're clearly just taking advantage.

  1. What route did you take up out of interest? I’ve only ever driven up and walked from the car park. Tbh I’ve found the walk quite underwhelming with a very barren landscape (which has its charms of course) and the view of the city is quite limited until you are up it more. Didn’t know if you walked up from the city you might get a hit more variety or some wooded areas?

I’m a big cavehill enjoyer; there’s a lot of variety on the different routes you can take with lots to see on each, lots of nice woodland, streams etc and good views all the way up.

  2. Fun fact inside the transmitter building there is a little photograph of the old guard dog who used to live up there. It does not look very friendly tho
