It’s been reported in the Maltese media that UK expats can exchange their driving license in Malta, with the same applying for holders of a Maltese driving license in the UK (see [https://www.tvm.com.mt/en/news/maltese-have-until-end-of-february-to-be-able-to-drive-in-uk/](https://www.tvm.com.mt/en/news/maltese-have-until-end-of-february-to-be-able-to-drive-in-uk/)). However, the [gov.uk](https://gov.uk) or DVLA websites do not mention anything about this. Has anybody enquired further?

An agreement was reached by Malta and the UK on Tuesday so applications are now being processed. Previously they were still being accepted but processing was on hold until an agreement was reached.
I think the extension of February this year is still in place so anyone looking to do this only have a matter of weeks to do so.
I swapped my UK license for a Maltese one towards the end of last year. I filled in a couple of forms, went to TM by Pama, was in and out within an hour. Took about 2 weeks to get my Maltese license in the mail after that. Was a quick and easy process, I must say.
