National Cyber Security Index

  1. It looks to me that there isn’t much to be hacked there otherwise given the security of routers and firewalls and smartphones that go in and out of buildings …

  2. 50% of the time Greek websites don’t work, whether you are trying to buy data through what’s up or on some government site like taxisnet

It is really annoying but atleast you can torrent the entire internet and never get in trouble

  3. [https://ncsi.ega.ee/methodology/](https://ncsi.ega.ee/methodology/)

“The NCSI focuses on measurable aspects of cyber security implemented by the central government:

    1. Legislation in force – legal acts, regulations, orders, etc.
    2. Established units – existing organisations, departments, etc.
    3. Cooperation formats – committees, working groups, etc.
    4. Outcomes – policies, exercises, technologies, websites, programmes, etc.”

After reading that page I guess I have to watch [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92i5m3tV5XY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92i5m3tV5XY) in a loop for an hour.

  4. surprised to see Switzerland so low on the list, as a major financial way point

    edit : also Luxembourg

  5. I imagine our cyber security is just the intruder getting spammed with hyperlinks to Czech porn, at which point he gives up and just jerks off.

  6. Interesting list.

Is cyber security a big component of the Greek military? I know that Greece has a pretty big military budget.

  7. lol Germany #6

Either everyone is *unbelieveably bad* at this or this list is bullshit.

  8. Everyone just needs to patch their shit, so many exploits are because you have Win2008 servers holding critical information that hasn’t had any security updates in the past 10 years.

  9. Funny how italian senate meeting was interrupted by Final Fantasy porno just a few days ago, and still made it to be 19th on the list lol

  10. Greece top, Norway in the bottom third, finally a ranking that doesn’t fit the standard list for everything else good.

  11. What? We are ahead of Estonia? In some IT field???

    That’s indeed really surprising

Edit: checked the ranking, apparently, in 2019 we were 1st lol

  12. Belgium so high? our military hasn’t had internet for weeks because of a cyber attack

on the other hand everything is still old school on paper so.. nothing to hack I guess

And apparently our police has a very good cyber crime unit that was part of the silk road website takedown

  13. Greece entered the digital era, in the national and public services, really late. So the whole system is been made with more experience from the gate go. All programmers know that you are more or less stuck with the initial structure of program that you try to make more secure. At least that is my theory haha

  14. As a Serbian who similar list always read from the bottom, looking for my country, now I am pleasently surprised to see my country not on the bottom of the list. Even first of non EU countries. Serbia stronk 😀

  15. I can’t even believe we’re that high up even, I feel like we’ve had so many cyber attacks that we can never trace, and we always take forever to clear the problems they cause.

  16. I was unironically looking somewhere at the bottom for my country’s flag then I gave up and figured that we’re probably not even on that list

    *Imagine my fckng surprise*

But tbf we’ve made enormous leaps in digitalisation during the covid pandemic.

E.g. It would be unimaginable some years ago that I requested a replacement drivers license through the government website got it seven working days later without needing to leave the house for a minute and the whole procedure took me just 15 minutes….. Well, plus half an hour cause I couldn’t take a decent picture of myself ;p

  17. Makes sense since Greece and Lithuania are extremely often targeted by disinformations attacks by Turkey and Russia respectively. That’s why beefy cyber security🇬🇷🤝🇱🇹
