My feet and hands were amputated after sepsis, says MP

1. I’m not sure I’d want to survive the loss of my hands and feet.

   I’m not gonna lie, for losing your hands and feet, I’m happy to refer to him as such if he wants it! 😂

3. Many of you will miss it but the big story is this.

   The wife part is a red herring. Many are missing the bigger story

   *Like his new legs, his hands were originally provided by the NHS, but he has since* ***gone outside the NHS*** *for new hands, likening the original prosthetic hands he was given to “****something out of medieval times***

   Quite literally stating the NHS isnt good enough for him. A conservative. During a conversative government

5. “Mr Mackinlay said when he returned to work he would campaign to make sure “the health service recognises sepsis at the earliest opportunity”.”

   So this is his take away from it….not that he’s a member of the party which is ripping the shit out of the NHS. Nothing to do with trying to get his party to stop dismantling it and cutting funding….instead it’s let’s make them recognise sepsis earlier, while being a member of the party that will fight to ensure they don’t have the resources needed to do so.

   I wish him well in his recovery, but the man sounds like a bit of a plum.

6. Read this earlier, fucking terrifying to be honest. The thought of feeling a bit unwell one night and then waking up a quadruple amputee (if you’re lucky enough to wake up at all) is genuinely nightmarish. I can’t really imagine the suffering, it’s awful. Was there any mention of what caused his sepsis? I know it’s selfish of me but I’m honestly just terrified of something like this happening to me, it’s my worst nightmare

7. Not much sympathy for a member of the party actively destroying healthcare for the rest of us.
