Boys Need Bins: Sanitary bins secured for gents loos in Worcester

1. Good to see we’re finally moving forward on this.

2. Good work, that man. I know prostate cancer survivors and still hadn’t realised that disposal of necessary incontinence products was a problem. Sad that public toilets are so few and far between these days though.

3. Reminder: this is because health problems that cause incontinence are not an exclusively female problem, and there are men who require sanitary items and deserve to be able to safely and hygienically dispose of them while out and about.

4. Fewer gender toilets would fix that but another victim in our culture wars.

5. I was like aww, good win for the trans guys and what a sensible council! Then I saw it was for incontinence and I was like, nice, that sounds super necessary! And then I imagined the uproar and death threats for councillors and if they had actually done it publicly for trans people and I was sad again.

6. Yep, mens rooms should definitely have them, men use sanitary products of all kinds, some have to dispose of medical sanitaries too.

   And this is before you get into Trans needs. A lot of trans folks menstruate, not just those who use the womens room.

7. Now we need to get them somewhere to actually piss that isn’t a business (that may or may not allow you to use the toilet).

8. I feel like all bathrooms, generally, need bins. Recently used a cafe toilet to change my baby – they had a changing table but no bin. Wtf? I’m sure there are dozens of things people need to bin that they don’t want to carry in their hand past people eating their food.

9. Have I been living under a posh rock? I’ve never seen gent loos in any office or restaurant without sanitary bins.

11. Excellent, well done. Always good to see someone pull a campaign like this off. Those of us with bowel and bladder problems aren’t catered to very well by the public sphere. You only find that out when it’s you!

12. Pardon me for being *that* guy but I thought we had disabled toilets for precisely this reason?

    How long do you think it will take someone to fill the bin up with water for a laugh?

13. I’m a man just turned 60, and this has been an eye-opener. I was never aware that this was an issue.
