My five-year term is not over yet – Zelenskyy on presidency

1. Imagine having to deal with COVID and a fullscale war against a nuclear nation in your presidential term while improving the infrastructure and digitalization.

   While other leaders are chilling in their comfy position

3. EDIT: Expected that fanatics of the person they barely know just downvote this and can’t say anything against because it’s just not possible, it’s literally Constitution of Ukraine lol.

   He can be even Jesus himself. But law is law and constitution is constitution, at this date he’s no longer president.

   By the law powers of president transfer to Head of Verhovna Rada, if presidential term of current president ended but no new president was elected or election is not possible or was delayed.

   For different reason this happened with Yanukovych, when he escaped Ukraine, and Head of Verhovna Rada took powers of president like it should be, until new president was elected.

   Presidential term of current president can be extended if new president already elected but didn’t took the oath, or inauguration didn’t happened after presidential term of current president ended.

   Also, sure that election cant happen during martial law. But no law state that if presidential term of current president ended during martial law, their term will extend until end of martial law. It simply doesn’t exist.

   And in this situation only possible and legal and constitutional way is that Head of Verhovna Rada taking powers of president until martial law ends so election can happen.

   So in a nutshell, Zelensky currently is “ухилянт” or if I’m not wrong translated to “draft dodger”. Just like every men aged 18-60 that avoid draft is branded in Ukraine by government and media.

   Surely im russian bot, and you dont believe me, then just read article 103, 104, 108 of Constitution of Ukraine.

   Article 104: “Newly elected president enters on a post no longer than 30 days after official announcement of results of election”. This is when current president’s term can be extended for up to 30 days. And only when Article 108 works.

   Article 103 simply state that president is elected for 5 years. And that presidential term cant be any other than 5 years.

   State: “The Constitutional Court of Ukraine emphasizes that the provisions of Article 103 of the Constitution of Ukraine and its other articles, which determine the constitutional and legal status of the President of Ukraine, do not contain norms that would establish a term other than five years, for which citizens of Ukraine can elect the head of state, regardless of from the type of election (ordinary or extraordinary).”
