As much as I hate Russia and Russians right now, I feel like this is a total misinterpretation of what he was saying. He told her to go and poison her husband – obviously not meaning for her to do that. It’s like a “joke” of some kind, used as a way to shock her in the moment, the extreme nature of the suggestion allows him to then say what he wants to say, which is “How about just being patient with your husband, rather than getting annoyed at the smallest petty things”
I’m almost 100% sure that was what this was in this one instance.
