Panda waste are the fastway of bin collecting so Id happily see them removed from the practice.
Fuck privatisation
Bin collecting was pretty terrible back when the state ran it.
Privating waste collection is one of the worst moves this country ever made.
Sure councils makes easy money off selling the tenders but they then also have to pay for site inspections. They’ve to pay to enforce the rules on people breaking them and, if you end up with some Ken who just completely flouts the rules, the state will usually end up paying for the cost of remediation, they get little back from the offender and everyone else lives with the consequences of one company’s greed!
Then there’s the fact that in order to make sure everyone in the country had access to recycling facilities, we’ve to legislate to make it happen. It’s only this year that bin companies are legally obliged to provide a brown compost bin to every house.
IMO, the upside to privatised waste collection doesnt outweigh the downsides.
I’m happy to see this going back to the public sector as well. I’m sick of the price gouging that the private companies are doing.
No. Pay for your bins and stop expecting everyone else to pay for your waste. The private companies provide a good service to my family, much better than the council run “service”, and I’m not having to pay extra in tax for all those people who think this should be provided for “free”.
Just thought I’d recycle that pun a few times in this thread too. Do my bit and all that
It’s an interesting one, but officially there is no training available for refuse collection.
They just pick it up as they go along
Would be a great day for the parish!
No matter who collects the rubbish we’ll end up paying for it. The council will not be able to do it cheaper than private companies.
If nobody has asked the question as to why the bin companies change after elections , its because of this shit show , they are friends or people getting favours , now they’re on the way out they are trying to stop anyone from ever doing what they are doing , probably because the use the money for subversion and are afraid the next party will do the same thing
Best thing for the council to do is just undercut them by having public bins walking distance from every house.
Its not going to happen but it would be great.
A vote getter if it was to actually happen.
It’s crazy how little say we actually have on how the country it ran. The government should be an extension of the people, not the other way around.
