My offer letter states that my notice period will be "as per the Employment Contracts Act".
Does it refer to this ?
which basically says
- Up to 5 years = 14 days
- 5+ years = 1 month
Or are there special laws that apply for different professions? I am a software developer/engineer. There is no mention of a separate "collective agreement" in my agreement.

If nothing else was agreed on the actual contract then those are the correct ones for notice period on employee’s side. Employers have longer notice periods if they decide to terminate employee’s contract.
