  1. “It’s fine, they were mostly homeless or old.”

    -your liberal parents

  2. >The crisis has left local officials searching for answers in a region that regularly relies on churches more than the government to save people’s lives by offering them a cool place to hide from the desert air.

Since Arizona is a state that traditionally votes Republican, with only two presidential elections since 1952 going to Democratic candidates, and both their US senators and house members are also overwhelmingly Republican, I’ll offer them something that will bring them comfort with their religious beliefs: “Thoughts and prayers.”

  3. Can’t wait for another year of record breaking heats. If only there was something we could do about it :/

  4. It’s so crazy to me that Phoenix is GROWING.

I can totally understand people connected to the place not wanting to leave, or alternately not being able to leave. But actually *choosing* to move to an oven, when the country is huge with so many choices, is just crazy to me.

At some point, whether it’s 1 year, or 10 years from now, I predict Phoenix and a bunch of similar areas are going to bake so badly that they will reach a tipping point and become cities that start to collapse, as people start to flee.

  5. If Republicans hate political and economic immigration–wait till they start seeing climate related immigration.

  6. Wait until there is a derecho in Phoenix and the city is without power for a month. The death toll from that will not be in the hundreds.

  7. Well well well if it isn’t the consequences of their own jackass decisions.

Vote for the science denying illogical simpletons and enjoy the coming 130-140 degree summers you dipshits.

Evidence means nothing to people who believe in sky daddy in 2024.

I wonder how many Republicunts will be baked to death this year? Not enough, that’s how many.

  8. I hate not being able to walk my dog till after sun sets here in phx

  9. The sad part is that all the climate change deniers can afford air conditioning in their homes and in their full sized ICE pick-ups and SUVs. They’re not the ones suffering and dying. But keep voting Republican so we can roll back environmental laws and give huge subsidies to the fossil fuel industry.

  10. But but… DeSantis says climate change doesn’t exist…😂😂😂…
American politics is more amusing than going to circus and watching the clowns…

  11. Climate deaths from cold far far outright deaths from heat… so actually climate change may be saving more live than its killing

  12. Maybe don’t build a city in the middle of a desert? I dunno maybe I’m crazy
