  1. [Pippa Crerar (Politcial Editor of the Guardian)](https://x.com/PippaCrerar/status/1793273541497958681?s=19) also speculating about an election date given a number of circumstances , as is [Robert Peston (Political editor of ITV)](https://x.com/Peston/status/1793255310670323739?s=19)

[Lewis Goodall (well known reporter, formerly on BBC and SkyNews)](https://x.com/lewis_goodall/status/1793268064764473813?s=19) speculates it could be one of four possible things, a July election, a November election, a resignation, or something boring.

Jeremy Hunt has also cancelled a TV appearance, and the government has not denied any of the rumours. Cabinet members haven’t been told what’s on the agenda at the meeting.

Edit- [Nicholas Watt (Politcial Editor for the BBC)](https://x.com/nicholaswatt/status/1793286414651572467?s=19) is being told by Tory rebels that letters of NC are going in against Sunak for the election rumours lol

    Edit 2:

#The Guardian is now reporting it as certain according to sources:

  2. If trips are being cut short that has to be something that isn’t just a boring reiteration of policy or rhetoric surely?

Spicy entertaining speculation for the next hour at least until im proven wrong.

  3. What is the minimum notice period to hold an election with the requirements to have an ID to vote it seems more important than ever

  4. Something is brewing. The other rumour is that the UK might be about to take an official position on recognising Palestine, but that wouldn’t be so cloak and dagger.

  5. Please not 4 July. I’m on holiday and the wife *will not* be happy with me when I tune in …

  6. Oh great, I’m gonna have to lug two babies to the voting booth if that happens as my wife’s away then.

  7. I’ll believe it when I see it. A small part of me thinks he’s seriously considering finding an excuse to not call one and install himself as a defacto dictator in the weirdest, limpest coop in history – and a large part of the UK population will accept it.
