hey folks,
I'm thinking about hiking the bear-route/ Karhunkierros at beginning of june. I'm fully aware, that weather-forecasts are not 100% safe, especially when you're talking about the upcoming two or three weeks. But my german waether apps completely disagree. At the moment I'm writing this, wetter.com predicts 29°C and pretty nice conditiniones, at meteoblue it's below 20°C and raining, the famous german kachelmannwetter.com is somewhere in between
https://www.meteoblue.com/de/wetter/14-tage/kuusamo_finnland_649924
https://kachelmannwetter.com/de/vorhersage/649924-kuusamo/14-tage-trend
So, dear finish residents, what waether website or app do you use? Do you have any opinion on this? Or is it just hopeless and I have to prepare for everything from dehydraition-risky 35°C down to freezing -5°C? 🙂
Thanks!

I usually use Foreca:

Their 15 day forecast shows quite well that predictability is poor that far into the future.
Early summer weather in North Eastern Finland can vary a lot in temperature, so you should prepare especially foor chilly night times and potentially hot days. The most likely case is that the weather is going to be something in between.
Accuracy of any forecast more than week ahead is poor. Yr.no is a good option.
When hiking I usually just pack for any possible weather that’s been forecast because mobile connection in the wilderness can be spotty and accuracy of weather forecasts tends to get worse over time.
Edit: And I personally like to use finnish institute of meteorology for data on upcoming weather
I suggest you pack a day or two before departure so you have some chance of having the right gear with you 🙂 No forecast will be reliable that far in the future
