  1. I have to admit, this surprises me a bit. What angle am I missing?

  2. Apparently this guy is my congressman though I’ve never heard of him before the whole speaker fiasco. So far not completely disappointed in him but I also haven’t looked into his views on trump and I have a strong feeling that might be pretty disappointing. But I like this decision!

  3. I wonder what they showed Mike Johnson for him to take the threat of Russia seriously, and become so pro-Ukraine now. I’m not complaining though.

  4. Slow down russia oil make Louisiana oil more profitable

  5. Maybe the lights finally went on in Johnson’s head when he got the details of what russia has been, and is currently, doing to the US (and our allies) in the intelligence briefings before that vote to approve $$ to Ukraine

  6. The alternative is Ukraine hitting Ukraine with the weapons… and I think we can all agree that is silly.

  7. Gotta imagine that intel brief that changed his mind has a lot of information that’s deeply worrying about Russians intentions

  8. The House Speaker just realized that he won’t have to work for Putin anymore if Putin is no more

  9. Wow. It’s been a total 180 for this guy from a few months ago. Guess CIA and others probably threatened him to stop being a putin puppet

  10. That’s a weird way to announce they have finished development on their next gen long range system and are at the production of replacements/selling off old gen stock stage.

  11. He also blockaded the 2024 aid package for six months to open a window for Putin.

If he’s serious about helping democracy beat dictatorship, he’ll be announcing new long-term aid packages soon.

If we don’t soon see House proposals for major aid to Ukraine in 2025 and beyond, then it’ll be obvious that this is just a politician saying whatever he thinks will help his side politically.

  12. A broken clock is still right twice in 24 hours.

  13. Everyone asking what changed. The briefing. Mike simply assumed he knew enough to say Ukraine wasn’t that important. The CIA explained to him he’s wrong… and detailed to him how and why Russia doing this is a major threat to western democracies. One we’d better see nipped in bud before it gets much worse and much more expensive.

Poor Ukraine caught in the middle of us having to explain these things to our congressman. At least he was open to new information. Rare for his kind.

  14. How is Mike Johnson, of all people, looking like a moderate? What alternative universe have we arrived in?

  15. He’s scared but clearly not scared enough keep showing him what he helped cause.

  16. He’s come to his senses. I disagree with him on most issues, but I’m really glad to see that he does, indeed, have a few braincells.

  17. I just wanna say: bravo Mike.

It’s one thing to be on the “right side”, it’s an other entirely to be wrong, and change your course despite your entire party not wanting you to do so.

I’m not saying it makes up for what he did before, but I commend decency when I see it

  18. You’re looking at a man who literally thinks the rapture is a good thing, and we’re all fucked and he’s chosen and safe.

Also, I have a few questions about his decision-making and particularly which God he worships.

He stated that he was chosen by Moses or some other bullshit. Has a moral management app on his and his sons phone, just in case they become weak and hit the porn. And whilst basking in this stomach churning morality and church, he dresses up like a cult robot, undermines the US legal system, and this is the Speaker of the House, in the defence of a rapist.

Which God he worships?? You tell me 🤔

  19. You still unfortunately get people here arguing for boiling the frog shit, but I think Johnsons viewpoint is the correct one.

  20. I’m guessing this has nothing to do with his personal views and everything to do with his constituents supporting Ukraine.

  21. Just wants to be able to blame Biden for starting war with Russia.

  22. Ooooh. Tucker Carlson is going to be very upset. They might hit his studio!

  23. Words are wind, until they actually vote on this and pass it, I refuse to believe anything these clowns say.

  24. Well, I never thought I would agree with him on ssomething. Strange times we live in.

  25. Be careful now, Mike. Your GOP comrades will not like this

  26. I am slightly surprised that he can still surprise me.
Maybe when he’s not being influenced by the dark-side, he can occasionally do something positive ?

  27. I think he’s still a piece of shit, but I will acknowledge when he’s doing something good. Whether I like to admit it or not, good on him for going against party lines and doing what’s right.

  28. Technically Crimea is part of Ukraine so destroy the fuck out of that bridge.

  29. This is such a significant change in Republican leadership. If Biden is brave enough to allow it, I’m thinking that house leadership will be on HOAs with more aid next year. To the old gods and the new, I hope Biden says okay to this soon. More and more aid is coming from Russian to Ukraine from land thru occupied Donbas, Luhansk, etc.

  30. They must’ve given him one hell of an intelligence briefing

  31. Uh war, the one thing the seems to draw heavy bipartisan support.

  32. I guess the republicans can’t have people thinking they are pro Putin with an election coming up but mark my words, if Trump wins, it’s over for Ukraine.

  33. This is fairly surprising. It seems almost unthinkable when talking about Republicans, but maybe he does actually have some genuine beliefs that are not just “more money for me”, and he was shown convincing evidence that not helping Ukraine would be against those beliefs. Or else, someone pro-Ukraine offered him more money. Or he knows something about Trump and is pre-emptively jumping ship.

  34. ….. as long as they get to call Putin to warn him in advance
