Hi
I (27/m) am looking to move to Germany. Currently, I work as a freelance videographer and I am looking to bring those skills over to Germany as well. I have started learning the language and aim to reach C1 before I actually make the move.
I have got two plans of action at the moment.

1. Visit Germany through the [Germany Job Seeker Visa](https://www.germany-visa.org/job-seeker-visa/), find a full-time job as a videographer or video editor, and then bring my wife (English teacher, 28) along to settle down there.
2. Enroll in a course. If the videography career doesn’t work out, I am learning the skills to be a data analyst.

I wanted to ask if there was a demand for videographers and video editors in Germany.

    No.

  2. And unless you have substantial finances the chance they let you stay for more than 6 months as a free lancer is pretty slim.

  3. I work for a big radio station which has a TV station. I think there is a demand. Not more or less than in other industries.
But most work in the media here is on a freelance basis. This could give you problems with the work visa.
I am German and a freelancer and have sometime problems with the retirement Fonds or with the health insurance. Keep that in mind. I think it is possible but, check that before.

Check out the “öffentlicj rechtlichen” : wdr, ZDF, ndr, br etc.

Also: a lot of internet marketing companies looking for videographers. Maybe you are not a freelancer but an employee there.

Do you know where in Germany you want to live?

  4. I know this isn’t your question, but just a warning, your wife will likely not be able to teach in German public schools without a lengthy re-training or completion of a German university teacher training course. Private language school teaching positions are available, but pay quite poorly.

  5. There is also the [freelance visa](https://service.berlin.de/dienstleistung/328332/en/), here some people who got it: : [stand up comedian](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWHtkAUTAcc), [social media adviser](http://blog.cloudpeeps.com/how-to-get-the-berlin-freelance-visa/), [travel photographer](https://medium.com/@alexhallfilm/get-your-freelance-artist-visa-in-berlin-the-smart-way-e0f5ac2691de), [social media manager](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mRGecvOsL4), [designer](https://medium.com/@imcatnoone/how-to-get-your-german-freelance-visa-without-losing-your-sanity-8fa68b39431a), [teacher/social media worker/proofreader/webdesigner](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1nRSYPa8bw) or [with customers outside of Germany](https://www.bemytravelmuse.com/how-to-get-german-freelance-visa/).
