Waiting for the Fabrizio here wo go so that we can start squad planning already
Can‘t lie. I‘m excited for it. At least it‘s a new and surprising approach. The football will also be way nicer than Tuchelball.
I’m excited. It’s gonna be a nice change of pace with an up and coming young manager.
No. Please no
united fan lurking here. i guess they are going for him because he will have the automatic respect of the dressing room due to his playing career and his principles are that of pep’s right? but don’t you guys think you guys don’t have the players for that style? wouldn’t someone more pragmatic and functional like say conte make sense?
Go for Pochettino and keep him in case he rejects us too. Weed has been legal since April and it seems like our board is smoking the good stuff a little too much man
Honestly why not go for Knutsen if all you wanted was a good footballing philosophy guy?
A tad bit too risky for my taste with the most important season in decades coming up. On the other hand it’s cool to see this level of courage from management and from Kompany, should he join that is.
I don’t know if he’ll be a good hire or not, but I’d much rather go with him than the same managers that get passed around from club to club. Some fresh ideas might be the way to go.
I don’t know what will happen about this decision, but it’s definitely going to be fun to watch.
He used to be a good player after his switch to City. Much respected too. Played them couple time back then.
Didn’t follow his career as manager but what I’ve read and heard so far isn’t that far off. We experimented with guys like Klinsmann and Flick in the past. Handed over the teamto a young Nagelsmann, pretty early in his career. So, why not? His idea of football might be a good fit but whatever happens, we needs structure, chemistry, better technical players, fresher with their mind and not only faster with their feet but also in passing, positioning and almost everything else.
That combined with the way out board handles everything…gotta get some calmness back into this club so that we can find our strength again, consistency too.
Hopefully with a back four conceding less than 30 goals a season. Been a while with all these horrendous, notorious and stupid mistakes and errors that we’re witnessing almost each and every game. Often more than once per game.
I’d rather get EtH than Kompany.
If we don’t expect crazy things over night (tbh, we will), we might actually play watchable football in the league again in a few months.
Perhaps he can even bring either Upamecano or Kim back to form with his experience as a player.
Well if Kompany fails, then say goodbye to Musiala
That must be a joke? 😂
Bayern is losing again one year of development by getting a manager that is (supposedly) just warming the seat for Alonso or Klopp. He won’t have the trust from media, fans and the board and I bet they will postpone the long needed overhaul of the squad again.
Nope. Not The One! Let Chelsea have him. <wink>
As a fan, I don’t believe in this appointment and I think he will not be a successful manager at Bayern. But hope for the best I guess and wish him luck.
I mean I’d rather we experiment and play scary attacking football than whatever tf Tuchel was doing, or some other b-list manager having us pass backward. Let’s take some risks.
Does everyone forget Xavi did nothing before Leverkusen? And Kompany might be the same? I actually feel weirdly excited that we’re doing something different.
He played dominant scary championship football, it just didn’t work with the Burnley team that was not great at all. Still, the Burnley players stood behind him to the end which is a great sign.
He’ll be gone by February
Prepare for second division
I’m a city fan. I wanted him to succeed Pep after his time at Burnley but I have to admit this is not the timeline I had in mind. His main issue at the moment is that he is stubborn with tactics but that isn’t surprising considering Pep is his mentor. I will say that, whatever his faults, Kompany is a natural-born leader and his mentality is second to none. He has all the qualities to become a top coach but he has to prove it now. Hope it works out.
I’d rather have Poch tbh
