  32. I’ve always found a deep irony in the notion of “protecting parents rights” through creating a nanny state, the only parents who need excessive and intrusive laws to control their children are people who don’t parent much in the first place.

    The fear mongering is pretty crazy, I think it’s mental how this person can just state something like that in a campaign leaflet as if it’s fact and not have to provide evidence or even a hint of what they’re referring to.

  38. I know we laugh now, and these guys won’t go far in this election. What scares me is when these guys start laying the seeds like this. 10 – 15 years these could be a legitimate party who will potentially be getting elected into government.

    We don’t have great alternatives in Ireland. If Sinn Fein shit the bed in power we could see a desperate run toward an extremist party as an alternative.

  42. I watched a video from some of them fellas who were going up and down the Shannon last year to shout at librarians just to see what books they were talking about. One example was a kids storybook about a little boy who was looking after his toys (standard role play stuff, pretending to mind them, etc) and the fella in the video started shouting “THIS IS A DISGRACE! THEY WANT TO TURN LITTLE BOYS INTO MAMMIES”

    As if the concept of caring for something would never apply to, y’know, a Dad…
