I remember once when I was back in the States an ex, Colombian, had her cousin dock with their Colombian naval boat at a show.
All the Americans were awed by the old school classic boats.

There’s even a story about the Italian training ship, [Amerigo Vespucci wowing them](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italian_training_ship_Amerigo_Vespucci).
I guess when things are mass-produced and everything is modern, there is an increased emphasis in the beauty of things made the traditional way.
