   The teenager had been previously convicted of taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, driving without insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and had been given a referral order.

   Defending, Robert Cowley said the boy had a difficult upbringing and was developmentally immature for his age, but by entering a guilty plea he had shown remorse.

   Wow.

   Nobody publicly says it anymore but some people are just raised to be bad. The harm he has caused can never be undone. He has done nothing or said anything to indicate remorse (pleading guilty isnt remorse its to get a discount).

   Just because someone is under 18 does not mean they are not responsible for their actions, it does not mean that they can’t already be fully engaged in a life of destruction or become someone that society would be better without.

   It also for me raises the question of what is the point in investigating such a crash and finding the offender for them to get a year and a half detention. Ultimately that period of time will not protect the public in the future from the harm this person will cause again, rehabilitation doesnt work in youth detention centers or prisons, so whats the point of catching them? I doubt the family will get a sense of justice from such a short sentence.

4. Now remember when everybody cried because the police had the audacity to try and stop those scrotes in Wales.

   These kids aren’t just “Harmless happy go by lucky chaps”, they’re mostly illegally riding often nicked bikes like absolute cunts while committing a variety of other offences.

5. There’s a thread in Fahrenheit 451 about teens getting their kicks by driving like maniacs and deliberately running people over. Sometimes I feel like we’re not very far from that being our reality.

   It looks like category B (starting point 6 years) increased by obvious aggravating factors, particularly previous convictions, but reduced for age, ending up at 8 years. This is then reduced by 1/3 for a guilty plea, giving you 64 months or about 5.3 years for a final sentence.

   The judge set a minimum half of that which would have to be served before release on licence.

10. This bastard should be named, so the consequences of his actions follow him around for the rest of his like. It will almost certainly be a joke of a prison sentence – something like this really should be 20+ years before any chance of parole.

15. Where I live there are a lot of kids on bikes and it’s only a matter of time before someone riders or pedestrians are killed. And yet when stories like this one hit the news the parents still keep buying the bikes. Why are motorbikes for kids even for sale? You should only have access to them on dedicated sites. I know the ones who don’t care will still steal bikes, but let’s at least make it difficult to get hold of them.
