I can’t believe that there was only 51% in 2013. I would like to ask the other people what was in their minds.
I wonder if Putin thinks Crimea was worth all the diplomatic and economic damage. Ukraine, for example, was pretty pro-russia till the invasion. It would’ve been very likely that if Putin took a softer approach that Ukraine would of elected a pro-russia government not to far in the future. Instead, he loped off two of the most pro-russia vote areas which makes a pro-west government more likely.
