Israel says Biden’s threat on stopping arms is ‘disappointing’ • FRANCE 24 English

well as we mentioned Israel has described the US ultimatum as disappointing but for more on the reaction to Biden’s stance in Israel this earlier from the Jerusalem based ABC News correspondent Jordana Miller this is Israel’s most important Ally and it’s clear that Israel cannot in the long term uh fight in Gaza uh or face any of its other enemies be that Hezbollah or Iran without the support the military support of the United States so I think this will be taken seriously uh as the UN Ambassador uh for Israel said you know in political circles they they are describing it as uh disappointing frustrating uh some on the right making uh more far right making more critical comments about the B about President Biden’s stance um but you know President Biden has been very clear ever since uh natany Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin natano began to threaten a massive operation in Rafa the president was very clear that Israel had to present a plan that would effectively protect more than a million civilians and until today the United States doesn’t feel the plan they’ve been given would do that uh it’s important to say that you know the Biden Administration doesn’t oppose uh any operations in Rafa they want to see Israel go after Hamas in Rafa and the tunnels along the Egyptian Gaza border uh in Precision uh limited strikes uh perhaps Special Operations they don’t want to see the massive uh the massive Firepower with tanks and air strikes that Israel uh used in Gaza City and in Kan Yunis the two largest cities um and the United States is not opposed go to Israel trying to control parts of what is called the Philadelphia Corridor that is the Border area between Egypt and Gaza where a lot of tunnels uh still exist according to Israel and we have to remember that is how Hamas was able to build up their military capabilities by moving arms uh and everything else from Egyptian soil into Gaza uh remember Israel had a very strict blockade uh on the strip and Egypt was supposed to as well but but obviously Hamas got around that blockade Israel wants to control those tunnels so that uh Hamas can never rearm so you know President Biden’s decision um puts uh you know a very big Dilemma on the table uh before prime minister Benjamin netan and he’s gonna have to decide what comes next does he keep the Israeli Army uh in a very limited um presence in Rafa right now around the Rafa a border crossing which by the way Israel has to figure out when is it going to be open and who’s going to run it this is you know arguably one of the two most important entry points for Aid into the Gaza Strip there are two land Crossings in the north but they’re not really uh functioning at full capacity and most of the trucks are going in still through the South so natano has some tough decisions ahead of him uh on top of weighing what to do about a ceasefire deal which uh as we know the CIA Chief was here yesterday trying to save those talks which according to you know leaked reports here in Israel they’re on the verge of collapse because the sides just cannot seem to bridge the gaps

Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations expressed disappointment Thursday at US President Joe Biden’s threat to stop certain arms supplies to Israel if it invades the crowded Gaza city of Rafah. More information on Israel’s reaction with ABC news correspondent in Jerusalem, Jordana Miller.

  1. Come on, he secretly, without congress approval, sent weapons to Ukraine in March, he will do the same for the other zionist in the illegal state of israel.

  2. Israel have suitable weapons in their hands that the Americans have no idea. So don’t underestimate Israel power. They do anything for their survival.

  3. Something good about this is that the Masks are down, we can see who our allies are, we will keep fighting with or without Biden turn coat attitude, we are YISRAEL FOREVER🔯🔯🔯🔯🔯

  4. Disappointed he can't have a new pile of children's broken bodies to stand on. But it's all PR for both of them, lip service, he'll supply them if they run out as US government officials have their investment portfolios in arms to think about

  5. President Biden has gone too far. At the outset of this conflict, Biden said that Israel must defeat Hamas and bring an end to its rule in Gaza. Now, he says that Israel should not make a military incursion into Rafah in its fight against Hamas., and he is withholding vital weapons systems to Israel. Biden will go down in history as a man who contradicts himself, and one who has proven that he is not a true friend of Israel.

  6. I forget that no U.S. weapons ever killed any civilians in Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq etc. Hypocrites.

  7. So ABC is in Jerusalem reporting
only what israel wants the world to hear, not what’s going on the ground. Pretty sad for the quality of true reporting.

  8. It is illegal in the first place to arm Israel under US law, as a nuclear power not signing NPT treaty and not allowing IAEA inspectors in Israel. Glenn Amendment and Symington Amendment
