All this does is further isolate the good Russians.
If you want to enjoy the benefits of the civilized world you have to accept the rules on which it is build.
Simple as that. I feel sorry for decent Russians but your leaders covered your own house in shit and started to shovel it into other people’s houses. No other way.
As usual Russia will probably do the same with norwegians.
Ban them everywhere in Europe and deport the ones who are here already
okay, but the term is kinda cringe
I don’t think they care. Russia is huge, much like the USA in how natives holiday. So most Russians don’t visit EU anyway
Europe LOVES to help Russia with the task of keeping young men inside Russia to be future cannon fodder, doesn’t it?
Ffs, this is a stupid idea, I get it in the Baltics or Poland, but in the rest of Europe? This is a win win situation to steal brains and bodies from Russia
no way
A sensible idea for a safer planet. Also means that Norway doesn’t need to replace it’s multi-storey buildings with bungalows – we all know the more russians in your country, the more people “accidentally” fall out of windows.
Well since the only Russian that is allowed to leave Russia is possibly related to oligarchs or the government…lock Russia. Keep them in their beloved motherland until they eject Putin.
How are they going to enforce this? If you fly through a Schengen country there will be no passport check.
Also illegal migrants from all over the world should be denied entry to the EU… what bs
Keyword in the article: “tourists”, and is omitted from the title here. It makes it sound like Norway has banned an entire nationality on a whim, which is not the case.
Me: I wanna escape Russia because I completely disagree with Putin’s barbaric world view.
Europe: lmao, go fuck yourself. Go kill some Ukrainians and fucking die
So has Russia threatened to nuke them in retaliation yet?
As a german I would love to see something similar here.
I have had multiple encounters with Russians (I speak Russian so in bars one comes to talk sometimes) who basically, in short words, told me:
„*Your states also don’t see anything wrong with what Russia is doing. If so why am I still able to to anything I want here?*“
It seems kind of strange for many westerners, but people who life in authoritarian states are really used to get sanctioned immediately on a personal level. If nothing like that happens, they really can’t „perceive“ anything being wrong, or at least don’t see it as such a problem.
I will dutifully respect this decision by staying away from Norway border as much as I can friends/
BTW, *most* Russians are banned, who’s allowed to enter then
As a Ukrainian I see this an absolute win despite how useless it in reality is. Honestly I think that there should be a mechanism provided which would make Russians sign a paper stating they are sane. Like “I don’t support occupation… I don’t support the regime, I don’t and bla bla bla”.
It again will have both a real and a symbolical meaning. Both providing more control and therefore safety and giving a message that Russians are not just “same people” who accidentally think that their country can occupy and kill other people.
Knowing the russian language really opens eyes on how Russians even those “against the war” think.
I mean it feels good to just say ban them all. But maybe we should accelerate the brain drain from Russia to weaken it. But Putin might even like that, less people to cause problems lol.
They should ban russians from the government. Clearly they are overrun.
