Chinese owned fish factories in Gambia are employing local people, giving them a livelihood. Yet the same factories are destroying local wildlife and causing households to go hungry, as well as reducing tourism to once pristine beaches.

4. The Gambia is a really amazing place. I have some friends who live there. Unfortunately, decades of poor leadership from the former president and a non-stop barrage of NGOs coming in and trying to “help” has left the country and it’s people experiencing huge promises with little to be delivered. It really sucks.
