Ireland requested to Russia to move the drill outside their EEZ through a letter sent to the Russian ambassador. Russia took Ireland’s sensitivities and security concerns on board and decided to move the drill outside the EEZ. This is the mature way for nations to take each other’s concerns on board. Ireland not being a NATO member allowed them to engage at that level. If Russia asked NATO not to undertake drills in it’s EEZ after outlining it’s concerns, the narrative that will be painted in the media would be very different.
Actually, props to Russia for reasonable backdown.

Let this be a lesson to all the military powers across the world.
Don’t mess with the Irish fishermen.

No, but the British and French militaries do. One for [The Combined Joint Expeditionary Force (CJEF) – Anglo-French military force.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combined_Joint_Expeditionary_Force) I’d have thought.
