You mean rival fans have to go back to facing the shortcomings and underachievement at their own clubs and not use us as a distraction?
Thoughts and prayers for the 115 reply guys.
Because someone on Twitter said so?
It’s Tolmie, — **massive** pinch of salt, but he has got things right before (and wrong plenty of times)
I dunno about this one, at this point I don’t even think the club knows the full outcome, it hasn’t been heard and even if we’ve done nothing wrong that doesn’t mean we will be cleared of everything.
But my heart says please yes
It doesn’t really matter what the outcome is for the rival fans now, does it?
They’ve already made their minds up. It’s how they cope. They don’t know the first thing about these allegations yet have decided either we’re found guilty, or if we get cleared, they say we bribed them, the PL let us off, or some other big conspiracy. It’s how they cope with their insecurities and grim reality.
Ya I’m sure there will be no ambiguity from other fans
Lovely news
You know it doesn’t matter, ppl will just say city paid to have them dropped. They hate us, cause they ain’t us.
Wishful thinking that it all goes hunky dory. Even if it’s all proven clean it won’t be believed.
The image and reputation are gone and the club do have to take some responsibility for that, as they clearly could have done more otherwise there wouldn’t be so many non compliance charges
It’s interesting seeing the two sides.
With absolutely no evidence.
Man City Fans – We have done nothing wrong. 100%
Other fans – They’ve done 115 things wrong. 100%
Where does all this certainty come from on both sides??
I think fans of every club, including yours, will be a lot happier with the league when this case is settled one way or the other. This may be a strange take, but I’d rather you were found innocent. I’ll be pissed if we lost out on titles to foul play because then there’s nothing we can do to compete. The other team just being better is easier to swallow imo, as we can work out what needs to be done to catch up with the right players and staff.
Can’t speak for everyone, but I’m personally willing to accept whatever the ruling is and hope that every sodding conversation about English football will stop bogged down with morons typing 115 over and over again. It’s getting boring.
Looking forward to starting the race again in the autumn.
In for the tears and meltdowns in /r/soccer
And I think it’s important to remember in amongst the ongoing MSM and social media smear campaign what exactly the club is accused of:
Namely breaching a set of rules that for the first time in 120 years sought to restrict the amount and type of investment that an owner was allowed to put into their football club.
A set of rules that was lobbied for by a tiny select group of clubs that were fortunate enough to capitalise on the TV money rolling in at the time from the newly established PL and more especially the CL creating a financial gap that was almost impossible to bridge without significant initial investment.
A set of rules that restricts individual club investment in a game that long ago sold itself out as a corporate whore and welcomes club owners who take money OUT of the game in dividends and debt repayments. The hypocrisy is laughable.
When you’re up against the best run club in the world and the greatest manager in history only the highest grade copium will do.
I’d love for them to find us innocent of everything except for being uncooperative so we can get a 2 point deduction and then we can call every game with Forest or Everton the Points Deduction Derby.
Ruling in our favor will have little effect in the public’s eye. Two + years of “115 charges” has already had the effect the PL wanted. But there’s nothing we can do about it. Except continue to throttle every damn club in the league.
If this is actually true and nothing comes out of it (which I fully believe will happen, I literally have no reason to doubt our club) then we should fully embrace this, put it on the kits and everything, full shithousery!
Regardless of Tolmie’s credentials or hit rate, it’s clear that the club is confident. Not a guarantee of success as the panel still needs to convene (I think??), but you would rather the club be confident than nervous.
Why does everyone think the prem wants to damage the reputation of city? Just accept the fact youse broke the rules 115 times and will/should face punishment
