Norfolk Southern will pay modest $15 million fine as part of federal settlement over Ohio derailment

1. This is (in part) how the greater system is rigged toward the wealth-class; monetary fines are a product of the wealth-class; they came up with it. Long ago punishment was corporal (torture) and/or confinement (prison), or death. By *civilizing* punishment to be only monetary in nature, the wealth-class can throw money at this too, without any true personal repercussions. Go back to 40 bullwhip lashes for crimes like this, and I’d wager a million they’d be changing the way they operate, starting yesterday! It’s analogous to a poor drunk being fined a dollar (and no jail time) for getting caught drinking & driving. How is that a deterrent? *Fk it, if I get caught I’ll pay the dollar: I’m going to continue to drive, drunk or not!*
