Energy price cap falls to £1,568

1. I expect a gloating Rishi to say he bought down energy prices after claiming the previous rises were due to international factors by no later than 8am this morning….

3. Forgetting the election hubbub. Thank god for that. I am sure they will rise again in Winter but for now going to leave my DD and bank some so we don’t have to be so good damn cold next Winter.

4. I can’t describe how much I hate this abstract measure for a price cap. It tells me almost nothing without having to go do a lot of research. 1568 for some random house and temperature that was selected.

   Anyone with a larger or smaller house or more/less people or who keeps temperature hotter or cooler or takes more showers will pay a different price.

   I would be very surprised if the UK average is even close to the “price cap”.

   It is a dangerous thing as it may make people think they can’t end up paying more than the cap no matter what they do – this ends up wasting both energy and people’s money.
