Russia has begun tactical nuclear weapon drills near the border with Ukraine analysts suggest that the exercises are designed as a warning to Ukraine’s Western allies joining me live is Sky News us analyst Michael we Michael good to see you so we know Putin has threatened the World with nukes on on multiple occasions but what does this new move signal do we how worried do we need to be well I don’t think we need to be immediately worried but the word you used is precisely the what right one a signal this is Putin signaling a sense of aggression that he’s prepared to show over the war in Ukraine now a tactical nuclear missile is not the kind of thing that was dropped on hoshima or Nagasaki it can be very very small as a US missile expert told me today tactical nukes are designed to take out brigades of infantry not entire cities now the question is well what does that do how does that help you on the battlefield well with someone like Russia that’s a complex calculation because we don’t quite know what the effects of the radiation would be immediately after the use of one of these very very small nuclear missiles and as the expert said to me Russia’s the kind of nation that after using ATT tactical nuke it might send troops in despite the threat of radiation and look the Kremlin announced the potential for these exercises on May 6 they started two days ago and the Kremlin says it’s all being provoked by European aggression the French president uh uh the president of France macron who as you say in new calonia he’s been trying to get Europe to rely more on itself rather than on America since the Trump Administration and he recently said NATO may send trainers into Ukraine and the kreman argues that’s what prompted these exercises so what they’re doing is they’re practicing getting nuclear war heads onto mobile launches and missiles and then secretly moving those Mo those missiles into position and I can tell you the West is watching because we want to see how long it takes them to get these missiles ready to fire yeah look I know we’re talking about tactical nukes here but it just seems to me that the term mutually assured destruction has lost a bit of its meaning in recent times Well strategically no it hasn’t mad mutually assured destruction I mean both countries the United States and Russia still have around 1,500 strategic nuclear warheads basically armed at each other and theoretically they’re covered by a treaty which is set to expire next year and a lot of the other nuclear treaties have been expiring and haven’t been renewed so this is a whole different kind of nuclear warfare Beyond mutually assured destruction that would be more pinpointed used on the battlefield and would be tactical it’s something the world has never seen in in its entire history it’s quite concerning Michael we thanks for coming on

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signalled a “sense of aggression” that he’s prepared to show over the war in Ukraine, according to Sky News US analyst Michael Ware. 

Mr Ware’s remarks come as Russia has begun tactical nuclear weapons drills near the border with Ukraine.  

Analysts suggest the exercises are designed as a warning to Ukraine’s Western allies.

Russian objective is to force erratic Zelenskyy (the Economist described Zelenskyy literally screaming at his generals nowadays) to shuffle his remaining reserves (most of them exist only on paper at this point) to try to plug numerous holes. These senseless Zelenskyy actions will only increase the number of holes and precipitate Zelenskyy regime demise.

  23. Well if the west stops sticking there noses in his business he will have no need to use nuclear weapons. Ukraine is not even in the NATO alliance so why there backing Ukraine is beyond me. Russia has all ways said they will never start a nuclear conflict and I happen to believe that. If it happens it will be America's fault for continually sticking there noses in where it's not wanted👍

Since everything is indicating that Trump has this next election in the bag, Putin is advancing his timelime in order to accomplish his goals – whatever they may be – before Trump gets into the White House.   31. France, The Nederlands and the UK trained Ukraine troops in their respective country. As far as evidence shows, Ukraine is still doing "tactical retreat". Now how would it make tangible difference if NATO brings in trainers into Ukraine? Well, I supposed it is to do with the concept of "western game changer' ?

    UK and USA already said Ukraine can use it's missiles to attack Russia. If Moscow is hit I hazard a guess Kiev will be irridiated.
