  1. I’m a cultural stereotype how? I mean, stereotype like I say gabbagool? I make a lot of amusing hand gestures when I talk to you? I whack people?

  2. They know this was a true story, right? There’s a difference between stereotype and literally how it was in real life. FFS

  3. As an Italian I just laugh…

    I wasn’t offended by Goodfellas.
    Jersey Shore didn’t offend me.
I cry hysterically every time Peter imitates Italians on Family Guy.

    Forgettaboutit

  4. This is a big step forward for Italixn-American representation

  5. We live in strange times. This is a movie where an innocent waiter gets murdered as a joke. The offensive part is some guys doing Italian accents?

  6. Do people understand that content warnings are not actually censorship, or is this the internet?

  7. So you’re telling me they aren’t all, in fact, named Peter, Paul, or Marie?

  8. Oh no this is going to make the Right Wing mad for another week

  9. They do realize the movie is written, directed, and mostly acted by Italian Americans?

  10. I can almost promise you that literally nobody asked them to do this.

  11. I don’t see a problem with this. As long as they don’t touch the original film beyond making it fit for TV I don’t see anything wrong with it. Some thing’s need a content warning in line with today’s sensitivity.

I don’t see what could be wrong with Goodfellas. Does that movie have racism or something. It’s a classic Mafia movie but I don’t remember anything crazy about it.

  12. wait, isn’t this what being rated R does? warns patrons of the use of explicit content? why complicate the system and use another phrase on top of it?

  13. Can you imagine that? AMC broad… racist against Italians, and in this day and age, I know right but what are you gonna do you know Henry you really just gotta help me out here alright.

  14. Imagine that, prejudiced against Italians in this day and age.

  15. A nice thing is that this generates discussion and more people might end up being aware of and eventually watching Goodfellas.

  16. I just watched The Sopranos episode where they whacked Vito just for being gay. No warning there.

  17. I think Italians would be more offended by this trigger warning than the actual stereotypes.

It’s every Italian except my grandmothers favorite mob movie (she loves the godfather, but I can’t enjoy it, it insists upon itself)

  18. Italians do not give a damn. We have absorbed all the cultural stereotypes over time. This trigger warning is silly.
