  22. This actually happened with Jimmy Carter and the Írán hostage crisis. It was a major reason for his loss in 1980. The Iranians released the hostages after inauguration day. Of course there were 52 of them and there was the humiliation of the failed rescue attempt.

    This is literally his plan – if this sticks. He didn’t want the border issue resolved until he could wring maximum benefit out of it for his campaign, and it’ll be like this now for this.
