Was waiting for a bus a while ago on O Connell street when a gang of young people congregated at the side of no 13 bus. They smashed the window. Not sure what led them to do it. Was a bit shocked at how blatant the anti social behaviour is lately in this area. Wtf people?

  1. > There’s isn’t anything for them to do!

    — Apologists

  2. *gang of irredeemable shits, who are the dregs of society FTFY

  3. Normal behaviour for that part of town. There is no political will to police it properly and tackle the root causes of the social issues.

I find it really sad as it is such a significant street in our history and it’s a main tourist pick up and drop off thoroughfare. It should be properly cared for.

Last time I was at the 123 stop someone was stabbed in the hand.

  4. Zero Garda areound zero repercussions what do you expect. No fear in them

  5. Everything comes back into fashion including the 90s antisocial behaviour and part of town feeling  unsafe again

  6. What happened to the guards that were meant to be “armed” patrolling the city center? Maybe they could possibly, maybe do something about this… If they feel like it. I feel like O’Connell street is becoming even more dangerous than other parts of town. It’s a tie between there and Eden Quay. Seen my fair share of awful shite on the Quays.

  7. Thats awful! Hope noone was hurt. I always wonder if the person doing the damage gets caught, is there a punishment or community service given?

  8. Those poor little angles, it’s de lack a facilatees

  9. If you don’t put police on the streets, if you don’t hold adults and teens accountable then this rot just continues. I’m so damn tired of it, all it’s really done is make me want to live in the country away from people

  10. Passed by a group of 10 year olds wrecking Pearse street station at 4PM. A set of 12/13 year olds throwing around bar stool at the bus stop across from Connolly yesterday at 5. Town is a mess.

  11. Drafted all the Garda in on Wednesday for the football, then they disappeared.I was in town today for a good 4/5 hours, and I think I saw one maybe two garda cars.No garda patrolling the streets absolutely ridiculous.

  12. Hang on, I thought that policing in O’Connell street was all sorted out after the riots? The minister for justice said that it was all sorted anyway. Are you telling me that the visible policing presence only lasted as long as media interest?

  13. You need to start publicly physically dominating them, jailing and sentencing them to appropriate terms. It won’t be easy fun anymore.

Build prisons. Canvas tents don’t cost much and good enough for the military.

    Or, deal with it.

  14. Someone will be along shortly to tell us about the lack of faciliteeeeeez.
